Financial policy, market transactions and products have become increasingly complex and diverse. Particularly in the wake of the Global Financial Crisis, financial law and regulation have developed exponentially along with the evolution of the global financial system.
In recognition of his seminal role in the academic study of these issues, the Centre for Commercial Law Studies of Queen Mary University of London, Dedman School of Law of Southern Methodist University and the Asian Institute of International Financial Law of the University of Hong Kong are proud to announce a conference in honour of Professor Joseph J. Norton, “Innovation in Financial Law and Systems”.
In order to encourage participation by as many friends and colleagues of Professor Norton as possible, the conference is organised around three core aspects of the financial system:
- Financial institutions,
- Financial products and transactions, and
- Regulatory and institutional structures.
