This seminar examines how the United States and China are responding to the extraterritorial reach of emerging EU corporate sustainability law. Through due diligence, disclosure, and market access requirements, the EU is extending regulatory obligations beyond its borders, shaping the behavior of businesses operating in global supply chains. While these measures aim to promote global sustainability goals, they are triggering divergent responses from its main trading partners that may compromise these goals, as well as the competitiveness of companies. The seminar explores how these responses interact and analyzes their implications for economic operators navigating overlapping legal regimes.
