RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN SHIPPING LAW
The Law Faculty is pleased to announce the launch of its Senior Executive Programme (SEP).
The SEP will comprise a series of intensive weekend courses on cutting-edge topics in civil, commercial, arbitration, environmental, securities, and financial law. The courses will update practitioners on developments in specified areas of the law. Each course will consist of an intensive series of interactive seminars (held over one weekend and running for a total of 10 hours) led by prominent judges, lawyers, academics and other experts on the subject matter of the course.
Attendees receive a certificate and CPD points upon completion of a weekend course.
The first SEP course was on Shipping Law. It took place on 16 (Saturday) and 17 (Sunday) January 2016 at the Faculty of Law, Cheng Yu Tung Tower, Centennial Campus, The University of Hong Kong. The course will be led by:-
- Sir Bernard Eder, Essex Court Chambers, London; International Judge of the Singapore International Commercial Court; formerly Judge of the High Court of England and Wales; Senior Editor of Scrutton on Charterparties and Bills of Lading.
- Professor Francis Reynolds QC, Emeritus Professor of Law (Oxford); Visiting Professor (Hong Kong); contributing editor to Bowstead and Reynolds on Agency, Carver on Bills of Lading, and Benjamin’s Sale of Goods.
- Mr Toh Kian Sing SC, Senior Partner and Head, Shipping & International Trade Practice Group, Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP; author of Admiralty Law and Practice (2nd ed.).
10 CPD Points have been approved by The Law Society of Hong Kong (5.5 CPD points on 16 Jan and 4.5 CPD points on 17 Jan)
